Breed Specific Legislation

Helpful Information On BSL

The Government Introduced Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) in 1991 this makes it illegal to own four breeds of dog in the UK but it also makes it illegal to own a dog that looks enough like any of these four breeds which are

  • The American Pit-Bull Terrier
  • The Japanese Tosa
  • The Dogo Argentino
  • The Fila Braziliero

It is also against the law to sell, abandon, give away or breed from a banned dog.
The most important thing to remember if your dog is seized is never sign anything and get in touch with DDA Watch details are here

Introducing A New Dog

From just £1 per month you could join our sponsor scheme.

The choice is up to you of how much you would like to contribute each month and it helps us to know how much money we can expect in on a monthly basis. You'll be asked to fill in a standing order so you know exactly how much will be taken from your account by your bank, not by us.

We always need volunteers to help with fundraising.

If you think you have a few hours to spare and would like to help at outdoor events, street collections or bag packing then we'd like to hear from you. The dogs in rescue rely on volunteers to take them for a walk. If you have a few hours to spare and would love to take an unwanted dog for a walk then please contact us.
